COMMENTS Here are some interesting comments from Cure fans A record reviewer once wrote, and I don't remember his name, but he said that when you listen to The Cure, you don't know whether to "dance or trance". That is so true. Ed P. The Cure has at least one song to fit my every mood. Jason Baucom An open letter to Robert Smith - From a very grateful fan, I would like to say you and your band are one of the best if not the best band to hit the planet! For however long you stay around you have a fan who loves your music and talent right here in California. Love always, Tiffany Renee Witham Robert has to be the shyest singer in rock and roll. But I guess that's part of his charm. If he's not hiding behind his hair and make-up or the microphone, he has his head down so nobody can see him. Lisa Lopez I love the way Robert slips in the lyric "Fly me to the moon"
in the middle of Lovesong. The Cure will never end, no matter what the band decides to do, as long as my CD player still works. English Thing A prayer... In a Fan Magazine, the members of The Cure were asked, among other
things, what was their favorite guitar chord to play. Almost all of the band,
including Robert, said Yesterday I drove 300 kms to Canberra to see my first Cure concert...words cannot describe the
ecstacy I experienced when I heard 'The Drowning Man', me a Goth
who has progressed from black eye makeup and bird's nest hair to emerge as a 35 year old Policeman
who stood in awe, with tears falling down my cheeks....
Life is good, I have found The Cure in my Faith.
Just needed to let someone know... I can never get tired of listening to A Forest. The coolest song
that ever got me moving. For a guy to have the most common name(Robert Smith) in the world, he is the rarest and most unique person of us all. J.Kimble For those of you that hated Wild Mood Swings (I think that is most of you), go back and listen to it again. I think it is an album ahead of it's time. XeroMan I cried the first time I heard Pictures Of You and it has since remained my most favorite song in the whole world. Tom "CureMeNow" I really do wish I could understand what Robert says between songs at his concerts. But I'm afraid that because of a combination of his heavy British accent and the echo in the arenas, I can only understand about one third of what he says. Even when I play the tapes back, over and over again, I still can't make out what's being said. I know I'm not the only one that has trouble understanding what he says. Babblegirl2 Lovesong and A Chain Of Flowers are definitely the prettiest Cure songs. G. G. As an avid Cure fan, I would just like to say thank you to all of you who have posted your comments on the web. I have seen the Cure four times, in Europe as well as in America and I have seen their following diminish with every show. It breaks my heart because their music has played such a big part in my life. It is comforting, however, to know that there are others out there who feel the way I do and who know them to be the most talented, most fascinating band of the 20th Century. Jennifer Hayward The reality which constitutes a Cure song completely defies all previously-established standards. To be able to weave such surrealism into the tapestries of an alternate dimension proves an infinite talent for maintaining the passion of childhood. After all, we are all dreaming.......don't you think? Jenny E-mail me your comments and thoughts and if I like them I'll add them to the list. |
